It takes sometime to learn to properly use them without taking you're eyes off the road and even then it's not guaranteed. Everything about the center console looked cheap. They picked the least costing options from the parts bin, then piecemealed it together. The radio an optional satellite radio worked very well though and had many features. It also sounded well for a stock stereo which will keep almost all drivers and passengers happy. The climate control was very simple and straight forward with the rotating outer dials. Attempting to look back through the rear window is terrible. The trunk line is too high and reduces visibility where you need it. But when equipped park-tronic, this isn't so much of a problem. The system worked great and would get you within less than a foot of the obstacle behind you. You can equip the Lucerne with a GPS navigation system; it is worth the money if you're someone who spends lots of time in their car and wants a piece of mind while driving.
Performance
The Lucerne is strictly a cruising automobile and has a very smooth and cushy ride. It's not anything close to an automobile that can handle spirited driving. The suspension is too soft to be considered anything performance. It does however provide a relaxing ride on any pavement surface. The V6 engine equipped wit the Lucerne is also suited more for cruising and highway driving. There isn't much low-end power and takes awhile to reach its power band. The car shifts slowly and sloppy no matter when you press down on the accelerator. It does however provide adequate power for everyday driving and will keep the everyday driver happy.
